[Video] Dan Francia – “Walking in Heaven”

Whether he’s working with fellow Jersey natives Speed The Plough or The Feelies — or playing bass with Brooklyn DIY artists such as gobbinjr & the supergroup Janitor — musician & engineer extraordinaire Dan Francia has always managed to stay busy.

For his debut solo full-length “Come Back To Life” (Exploding In Sound Records), Francia enlisted many of his former collaborators in addition to other artists & friends whom he met during his years behind the sound board at Shea Stadium. Dan says the record was “an ambitious attempt at the ultimate guest artist album”, and the song “Walking In Heaven” (with at least 8 other featured musicians on the track) perfectly showcases that concept.

“Walking In Heaven” began as a demo that various friends encouraged Francia to pursue, and Bueno frontman & Shea organizer Luke Chiaruttini added the lyrics and melody. The video was directed by Nora Dabdoub, who booked & managed Shea Stadium for the majority of its existence, and also contributed vocals to the record’s lead single. The Shea connections are rounded out by Chris Elia, who extensively documented the venue & its peers, and who shot and edited this video.
