If you’re familiar with the Boston x Texas band, I Wish I Could Skateboard, then you are probably as excited as we are to hear new music. If you haven’t, then here’s your chance. Today, we premiere the first single off of their forthcoming album, The Way Things Turn Out, out this October via Chillwavve Records.
I Wish I Could Skateboard is in a serious LDR. They started back in 2013 when they all lived in Tyler, TX. After a few months of playing shows, Patrick and Hannah picked up and moved to Boston, and James stayed in Texas. They took some time off, but eventually the band decided that they weren’t ready to call it quits. With two more Boston bandmates, including Patrick’s brother Tim on guitar and Madhur Murli on drums, they began writing again, this time long distance, in 2017.
This past February, I Wish I Could Skateboard reunited IRL in Dallas, TX to record “The Way Things Turn Out”. Working with Alex Bhore at Elmwood Recordings, they laid down the tracks for their first full length. Bhore, who recorded the band’s previous two EPs, mixed the record and it was mastered by Sarah Register.
Listen to “Unfair”, the first single off The Way Things Turn Out, below, accompanied by some very cool visuals shot on their back porch after a rainstorm.
I Wish I Could Skateboard returns to brooklyn on Sunday, November 3rd to play Bushwick Public House. Stay tuned for more details!
